Eclipse expeditions around the world

In 1970, scientists from NCAR’s High Altitude Observatory (HAO) traveled to San Carlos Yautepec, Mexico, to document the March 7 eclipse. It was HAO’s largest expedition up until then. The Mexican eclipse was one of 13 eclipses profiled by HAO between 1952 and 1998; three other expeditions were thwarted by cloudiness.
